Well, today I announce my first game I’ve made. It’s not really too much, and it took way a long time considering what it is.
The game was made using the godot game engine as well as the kinematic body 2d template that godot provided. The exercise was for me to take this template and flesh it out into something that felt more like a game and less like a demo.
The game has 9 levels and a credits screen. There are no saves or anything and it is easily doable in one sitting (if you’re gud :P).
There are keyboard controls, and also controller support (for pretty much everything, except the web).
There are touch screen controls on the android build.
You can view the game on this site as an html5 app or you can download an executable for one of the platforms that I exported too:
This wasn’t a passion project or anything. It was an exercise to help me learn more about game development and give me some experience putting something together. There are many flaws in the level design that I don’t have the heart to make perfect. For what it is I am proud of it. But I am done with it and am ready to move on.
I really do want to make something else now. I learned alot more about design and the development process. If I make something of note I’ll surely write about it. But no promises. Time is precious these days.
